WA Deaf Society EOI, Interim CEO

WADS are looking for fresh leadership as we drive towards the NDIS transition set for 1 July 2017.
This will take the form of Interim CEO, whose core duties will be to:

1. Design and implement a Deaf friendly recruitment process for a permanent CEO who can start by 1 July 2017
2. Ensure WADS has the right structure, systems, processes and skills in place to effectively transition to NDIS by 1 July 2017
3. Embed an effective and complete organisational structure to best set WADS up for success to deliver all of our core services

These core duties are driven by WADS “three strategic pillars” determined by the WADS Board as at 2.07.16

1. Build our collective skills to help achieve the WADS mission
2. Effectively resource our mission
3. Ensure equal access to communication for all

We invite Expressions of Interest for this interim 12 month role from people with the following skills and experience:

- Ability to lead an organisation through significant changes
- Ability to communicate effectively in Auslan and English
- Deaf community knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of NDIS or broader government reform agendas

Those without the above mentioned skills need not apply; WADS will be ensuring a rigorous and stringent recruitment process and any individual that does not possess the appropriate skills will not be considered for the role.

Please send your CV, any questions and EOI as appropriate to:

WADS Board Chair, Annette Perrin at

Close date for expressions of interest: Friday 15th July 2016

Please note that it is not the intent of the Board for the Interim CEO role to “convert” to the ongoing CEO role post 1 July 2017. Whilst the Interim CEO will be not precluded from applying, the roles are considered separate, and a significant focus of the Interim CEO role, as above, will be to ensure we have a Deaf friendly recruitment process for the permanent role.
